Today we walk along the quiet waterfront of Tiberias, on the shores of the Sea of Galilee, one of the most historically significant and spiritually important lakes in the world. The Sea of Galilee region has been central to history for thousands of years, in the time of Jesus, this area was part of the Galilean heartland, and many biblical events are associated with nearby towns and hills. Later, during the Roman period, Tiberias became an important administrative and cultural city.
