UNESCO warns of a troubling increase in antisemitism and Holocaust denial within classrooms across the European Union. Nadia Massih is delighted to be joined by Heather Mann, a Project Officer from UNESCO's Section for Global Citizenship and Peace Education. Marking International Holocaust Remembrance Day, Ms. Mann discusses the insights from a comprehensive UNESCO report, developed over the course of a year, which examines antisemitism in European schools. Drawing on surveys of approximately 2,000 teachers throughout the EU, UNESCO advocates for systematic teacher training and specific educational materials to address both historical knowledge and modern forms of antisemitism.
